About Chaoscurrent.com
Chaoscurrent.com was launched in late 2004 and quickly became a wildly popular resource for magicians and mystics of all ages and from all four corners of the earth. Users raved about its simplistic layout, printer friendly pages and extensive library of techniques, theories, rituals, firsthand accounts of fringe experiences, reviews and interviews. They also enjoyed art, poetry, miscellanea and occult comics on the site.
"When I discovered the site, it was like someone had broken open a wasp's nest in my brain," one reader writes, "I suddenly had all these crazy dreams and ideas buzzing around in my head and magic seemed tangible and visceral. I'd definitely recommend this site to anyone who wants to explore magic, become a better magician or learn to change reality. That's what this site will do for you."
Co-creators Brian Shaughnessy (Fra. Samuel 23) and Kara Garland (Sor. Ceilede 789) say they'd been kicking around the idea of making a site about chaos magic for some time.
"We were bored one day, realized we had some extra money and decided to do it right then, pretty much just on a whim," says Kara.
"We already had the Livejournal Community, but we wanted to reach a larger audience. Our idea is to illustrate, not to presume to educate. We don't want to tell people how they should be doing magic. We just want to put some ideas out there that might enrich the magical lives of our readers. We're showing what we've experimented with, what has worked for us, in hopes of inspiring them to pursue a more functional or more fulfilling reality with magic."
